New Delhi: In a first of its kind high level meet, India’s Foreign Secretary Viram Misri met with Afghanistan’s FM Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi in Dubai. The meeting comes in the backdrops of escalating Pakistan-Afghanistan tension.

This is for the first time that an Indian high level delegation has engaged with Taliban after the militants came to power following the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan. The meeting is also crucial in the backdrop of Afghan Taliban and Pakistan tensions. Pakistan forces have clashed with Afghan Taliban at the international border following Pakistan Taliban attacks in the border region.
