Water bottle at Rs 10, samosa for Rs 20: Centre launches UDAN Yatri Cafe

Kolkata: To make food items cheaper for air passengers, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu launched UDAN Yatri Cafe in Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The initiative is being considered a major step in this direction.

The cafe has been launched to ensure no passenger feels isolated or overburdened. Passengers after entering the cafe will be able to buy water bottles at the cost of Rs 10. Similarly, they will also be able to buy tea (100 ml) at the cost of Rs 10, coffee (100 ml) at Rs 20, and Samosa (1 piece) at Rs 20, among other items.

Speaking at the event, the minister said, “I draw inspiration from the dreams and everyday struggles of the common man. It is my heartfelt mission to make air travel a symbol of affordability, dignity, and comfort – an experience every Indian can embrace with pride and joy.”

“With every affordable cup of tea or snack, we reaffirm our belief in making air travel an enriching experience and within the reach of all. It is my heartfelt mission to make air travel a symbol of affordability, dignity, and comfort – an experience every Indian can embrace with pride and joy,” the minister added further.

Centre to expand cafe in other airports too: Minister

The minister further added that the Centre is looking to expand the Udaan Passenger Café to airports across the country. The step will help in making the hallmark of the transformational growth of India’s aviation sector. “Together, we are building a future where air travel is not just a mode of transportation but a celebration of progress for every Indian,” the minister added further.
