Nikita Singhania, her mother and brother are currently lodged in judicial custody

Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania and her brother Anurag Singhania are currently lodged in judicial custody following a registration of a case of abetment to suicide against Nikita Singhania and her relatives by the Bengaluru Police following Atul Subhash’s suicide. Nikita Singhania’s uncle Sushil Singhania was granted anticipatory bail by the Allahabad High Court.

Deceased techie left behind a 24-page death note and video message

Atul Subhash left behind a 24-page purported death note as well as video message in which he talked in detail the emotional distress he allegedly faced arising out of marital issues, multiple cases getting lodged against him and harassment by his wife and relatives and an Uttar Pradesh-based judge hearing cases related to his matrimonial disputes.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was recently also filed in the Supreme Court in the wake of the 34-year-old techie committing suicide on December 9 and seeking direction to constitute an expert committee of retired judges, lawyers and eminent legal jurists headed by former top court judge to review and reform the existing dowry and domestic violence laws and curb its misuse.
