This app has captivated visitors at the Arogya Expo during the 10th edition of the World Ayurveda Congress (WAC 2024) at Parade Ground in Dehradun on Friday. The “Bhishak” app serves as a valuable reference for both practitioners and students, featuring detailed descriptions of diseases, medicines, lab investigations, procedures, prescriptions, and patents.

Developed by Dr. Sandeep, Dr. Rakesh, and Dr. Utham Shah from Shoranur in Kerala’s Palakkad district, the “Bhishak” app is a reliable reference platform for Ayurveda practitioners, teachers, and students. Dr. Shah mentioned that the app explains over 300 diseases, including their causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and Ayurvedic treatments across 10 departments. It includes information on more than 550 Ayurvedic medicines, detailing their ingredients, uses, dosage, and expert opinions on their clinical utility.

The app also has the largest database on all Panchakarma and Kerala-specific treatments, listing medicines based on conditions. Users can create their own prescriptions with the app, which was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic. The app also features a variety of proprietary Ayurvedic formulations targeting specific health issues. It provides extensive information on treating complications and includes over 60 Sweda yogas, Netra Kriyakramas, Snehana, Swedana, Vamana, and Virechana, enhancing both online and offline consultations.

The 10th World Ayurveda Congress, held from December 12-15, focuses on the theme “Digital Health, An Ayurveda Perspective.” The event aims to discuss leveraging new technologies to deliver Ayurveda solutions more effectively and reconfigure research and development projects. This biennial event, the largest international gathering of Ayurvedic practitioners, researchers, administrators, diplomats, teachers, and students, is organized by the World Ayurveda Foundation (WAF), Vijnana Bharati, Uttarakhand government, and Ayush Ministry, Government of India.
