The Sabarmati Report, a film directed by Dheeraj Sarna, is based on the 2002 Godhra incident in Gujarat, which involved the tragic fire in the Sabarmati Express that killed 59 people, many of whom were Hindu pilgrims returning from Ayodhya.

The film, starring Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra, portrays a journalist’s efforts to uncover the truth behind the incident.

Film in controversy since release

Since its release, The Sabarmati Report film has stirred controversy. Some critics have praised it for addressing social issues, while others have criticized it for presenting a one-sided view of the events.

The film has garnered attention not only for its sensitive subject matter but also because several BJP leaders have publicly supported and watched the movie. In some states, it has even been declared tax-free.
