Durg: The health condition of famous Folk singer Teejan Bai has been continuously deteriorating recently. The Padma Vibushan awardee has also not received her pension in nine months, which is affecting her financial condition as well, her family has said.
According to her family, the singer is undergoing treatment for last few years, and her blood pressure has increased since the last two months. While her health is unwell, she has not received a pension of Rs 5,000 since March this year.
Department asks Teejan Bai to send another letter
While Teejan Bahi has applied for pension, the Culture Department of Raipur is yet to receive the letter. While the department has asked her to send another letter. Because of this the singer is once again preparing to submit the letter after getting it notarized. Even as a team of doctors is treating her, they also do not come regularly. At present, the condition of international Pandavani singer Teejan Bai has become pathetic.
Authorities promise Rs 50,000 aid to famous singer
However, Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary said that Teejan Bai’s health is gradually improving now. She further said that apart from her pension, the singer will also be given Rs 50,000 by the government for financial assistance. The team of doctors will also check her health every day and physiotherapy will also be done by a specialist doctor.
