‘Assaults on minorities regrettable’: India to Bangladesh over anti-Hindu violence

New Delhi: Foreign Secretary Vikran Misri expressed New Delhi’s concerns over recent attacks on minorities in Bangladesh during a meeting with Bangladeshi counterpart Mohammad Touhid Hossain. He described the assaults on religious institutions and places of worship as “regrettable.”

Addressing Bangladesh’s interim government, Misri said Indi is committed to fostering a “positive, constructive and mutually beneficial” partnership. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said, “I have reiterated India’s intention to collaborate closely with the interim government of Bangladesh Authority.”
