The company, which has recently built a new stretch of road space for the Kolkata-bound traffic, has approached the authorities for the rejig of the existing road block, ‘The Times of India’ reported. Work for the first phase started in April

The work for the first phase had started earlier this year in April. It had also cordoned off the middle of VIP Road after creating road space on AAI land. Notably, it was after the completion of the first phase that the RVNL had approached the traffic police for the rejigging of the traffic block, the company had once again created the compensatory road space on the land, the report added.

The company is also all set to start digging piles for ramp construction, beyond Pier 846, as it is here that the viaduct is required to end. Because of this, barricading is being extended towards Kaikhali.
