Jalgaon: A pregnant woman and her family narrowly escaped harm when an ambulance they were travelling in caught fire and an oxygen cylinder inside it exploded on Wednesday evening in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district. A video of the incident captures the ambulance engulfed in flames, which then intensified into a powerful explosion with sparks flying several feet into the air. The blast was so forceful that windows of the nearby homes were shattered.
The driver noticed smoke coming from the engine and quickly pulled over. He exited the vehicle and immediately advised the pregnant woman and her family to move away. Shortly after everyone had safely exited, the ambulance’s engine ignited and an oxygen cylinder exploded a few minutes later.

The incident occurred on a flyover along a National Highway in the Dada Wadi area as the ambulance was taking the woman and her family from Erandol government hospital to Jalgaon district hospital.
LPG blast kills one
In another incident reported from Delhi’s Sultanpuri area caused part of a two-storey house to collapse, killing a 24-year-old woman and injuring another. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received an emergency call at 3:39 pm about a fire at Krishan Vihar. Upon arrival, two fire tenders confirmed the blast had caused the structural damage. Rajini (24) died at the scene, while Renu (20), who sustained 18 per cent burns, was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for treatment. The rescue operation lasted three hours. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
