New Delhi: BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar slammed the Congress-led Telangana government of failing to deliver on its electoral promises. He also criticised the government for running deceptive advertisements in Maharashtra aimed at misleading the public.
Kumar further alleged that the Telangana government had made a practice of demanding a 15 per cent “cut” on every project implemented in the state, calling it the new norm under the ruling dispensation.
‘Cong trying to deceive people of Maharashtra’
Addressing an election rally in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Sanjay Kumar said, “The Congress is trying to deceive the people of Maharashtra by falsely claiming that they have fulfilled their promises on loan waivers and minority reservations. The Supreme Court, however, had already struck down the ruling on quotas.
Kumar added, “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been spending crores on advertisements but fails to mention the Six Guarantees that were promised to the people of Maharashtra. In Telangana, promises like providing 10 grams of gold, a scooter, and a monthly pension of Rs 2,500 for eligible women were made, but none of these have been fulfilled.”
Kumar lists unkept Congress promises on jobs and aid
That apart, Kumar said that the Congress had pledged Rs 4,000 per month to unemployed youth and two lakh jobs within the first year of the government, but these commitments had not been made. Other unfulfilled promises included 42 per cent reservation for BCs, Rs 5 lakh financial aid for education, Rs 5 lakh assistance for house construction, Rs 5,000 per acre under Rythu Bharosa and Rs 2,000 for agricultural laborers, the Union minister added.
The promise of a Rs 500 bonus per quintal of paddy for farmers and the implementation of the Four DA and PRC for employees also remained unfulfilled, Sanjay Kumar added. He concluded by urging the people of Maharashtra to give the BJP another opportunity to lead.
