‘Congress does not want SC, ST and OBCs to progress’: PM Modi at Nashik rally

Nashik: During an election rally in Nashik, Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely criticised Congress and its allies, accusing them of dividing the nation on the basis of caste. He alleged that these parties are not working for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), but instead are creating divisions to hinder their progress.

The Prime Minister pointed out that Congress had erected a “wall of Article 370” in Jammu and Kashmir, preventing the Indian Constitution from being fully implemented there. He said, “For 75 years, Jammu and Kashmir had a separate constitution due to Article 370. Congress did not allow Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s constitution to be enforced there. We removed Article 370 and established ‘One Nation, One Constitution.’ The entire country celebrated this historic change.”

Prime Minister Modi also criticised Congress and Maha Aghadi alliance for their stance on defence manufacturing. He accused them of organising protests outside defence factories, which he claimed were efforts to hinder the country’s progress in this sector.

He said, “Today, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has emerged as a company with record profits, showcasing the positive results of a clear vision. But Congress did everything to leave the country behind in defence manufacturing.”

PM Modi calls for public support in Nashik

Addressing the people of Nashik, PM Modi asked if they were happy with the removal of Article 370. He said, “You are happy, but Congress and its allies are not. They recently created chaos in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, demanding the re-implementation of Article 370. They want to take away the rights and reservations given to Dalits and backward classes in the region.”

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of presenting a track record of work during elections, saying that BJP and Mahayuti alliance are committed to doing so. He contrasted this with Congress, which he accused of setting up a “shop of lies” to compete with the BJP. “They had set up this shop in Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh too, and we all saw the outcome. Now they are trying the same tactics in Maharashtra,” he said.

PM Modi also accused Congress and its allies of poor financial management, claiming they have been increasing taxes and extorting money from the public to cover their expenses. “They are burdening the public with taxes and filling their own pockets. The people have realised their reality,” he said.

He warned voters that wherever Congress and its allies are in power, there are scams and corruption. “On one side, we have the manifesto of the Mahayuti alliance, and on the other, there is the scam manifesto of Maha Aghadi,” he added.
