Four young men die of electrocution while setting up banners in East Godavari dist

East Godavari: Four men died of electrocution and one person was critically injured when they were setting up flexi banners in Tadiparru village of Undrajavaram, East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

The deceased have been identified as Bolla Veerraju, Pamarthi Nagendra, Marishetti Manikantha and Kasagani Krishna.

The bodies of the four men were shifted to Tanuku Government Hospital. Komati Ananta Rao, who was seriously injured, was shifted to Tanuku Area Hospital for treatment. The Undrajavaram police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

This comes in the background of setting up flexis for the inauguration of a statue of Papanna Goud. The sub-collector of Kovvur recently gave a nod for the unveiling of statue and was set to be inaugurated by film actor Suman.

CM Chandrababu Naidu conveys condolences:

AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his condolences over the incident and assured government help for the affected families. He instructed officials to ensure the injured is receiving the best medical treatment.

A compensation of Rs.5 lakh has been announced for the families of the deceased on behalf of the government. Minister Gottipati Ravikumar also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased.
