New Delhi: Mumbai City notched up their second win of the 2024-25 Indian Super League with a 4-2 win over Kerala Blasters in a home game on Sunday.
Mmbai striker Nikolaos Karelis scored a brace, tapping in from close range on the 9th minute and converting a penalty in the 55th.
Kerala fought back to make it 2-2 with Kwame Peprah earning a penalty that Jesus Jimenez put away to reduce the margin on 57 minutes after which Peprah dived to head home an Adrian Luna cross in the 71st minute.
But the match turned towards Mumbai after Peprah was sent off for taking off his shirt, receiving his second yellow card in the match.
Mumbai took advantage of their numerical superiority as they regained lead only four minutes later as Nathan Rodrigues pounced on a loose ball from a corner.
Lallianzuala Chhangte then scored his first goal of the season as he drove his spot kick into the net in the 90th minute to confirm three point for the reigning ISL Cup champions.
Ajaraie sets record as NorthEast United edge past Odisha
Alaaeddine Ajaraie became the first player in ISL to score for the seventh consecutive match to lead NorthEast United FC to a 3-2 win over Odisha FC in Guwahati on Sunday.

NorthEast United FC’s attacking quartet of Parthib Gogoi, Nestor Albiach, Jithin MS and Ajaraie tormented the Odisha FC defenders with their marauding runs and exceptional understanding.
Hugo Boumous (60′) got Odisha in with a chance but Guillermo Fernandez’s 71st minute strike ended hopes though Diego Mauricio’s 83rd minute goal gave them hope.
But North East defended deep to register their third win of the season.
