US elections: Will Harris pip Trump in White House race? What polls say

Washington: With just a few days left for the US presidential elections, a number of polls have predicted tight race between Republic candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris. While some of the polls suggest no clear edge, others predict a slight advantage for Harris. The elections will be held on November 6 in the country.

‘Voters unhappy with choices of candidates’What New York Times/Siena College polls suggest

According to a latest survey by ABC News/Ipsos, Harris may win the race for the White House by a narrow margin. The latest survey by it suggests Harris ahead with 49 percent support, while Trump closely trailing with 46 percent. The latest poll is similar to what it had predicted recently. At the time, Harris was shown to win 51 percent as compared to Trump’s 47 percent.

‘Voters unhappy with choices of candidates’

The poll further noted that the likely voters are unhappy with their choices. At least 60 percent of the voters pointed out that they were unhappy with the choices of candidates this time, while 74% feel that the US is on the wrong track. Voters also differ on how the winning candidate would change things differently as compared to others. While 51 percent fear that Trump might shake up things in an improper manner, nearly 31 percent of voters think on similar lines.

What New York Times/Siena College polls suggest

As per New York Times/Siena College polls, none of the two candidates have a clear edge in some states including Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. The survey suggests that Harris and Trump are tied in Georgia (46% each), Michigan (45% each) and Pennsylvania (47% each). The Democrat candidate has a slight edge with 48 percent over her Republican candidate who has 45 percent of voters in both Carolina and Wisconsin.
However, Harris with 48 percent has an edge over Trump with 46 percent in Nevada. Trump leads in Arizona with 48 percent as compared to Harris’ 44 percent. Further, The Times survey also suggests that 8 percent of likely voters who planned on their vote in the last few days or weeks before are divided among themselves with 55 percent for Harris and 44 percent for Trump.
