New Delhi: One of the biggest releases in the second half of 2024, Kartik Aaryan’s horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 released in theatres on November 1, 2024. Coinciding with Diwali and Vidya Balan’s return to the franchise created massive hype for the film. Battling with Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, the horror comedy did not fare well in comparison.
However, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 marks Kartik Aaryan’s biggest Box Office opening day earnings with a whopping Rs 35.5 crore. After watching the films in theatres, the audience has been curious about the filming locations for the movie.

The film had some pretty stunning shots with mesmerising scenery in the background. And rightly so! Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was shot in several locations including Mumbai, Kolkata, and Ujjain. In a recent interview, Kartik Aaryan revealed that the film was majorly shot in Kolkata and Ujjain with a few scenes of Mumbai sprinkled throughout.
Fans will be able to spot Kolkata’s iconic yellow taxis in the background of promotional shots for the film. The actor also added that the ‘bhootiya” scenes that required VFX were filmed in Mumbai. On the other hand, major scenes of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 were shot in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain, a city known for its spooky supernatural tales.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 budget and cast salary
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was made on a massive budget of approximately Rs 150 crore. As for the cast salary, reports suggest that being the lead actor, Kartik Aaryan charged around Rs 40 to 45 crore. On the other hand, Triptii Dimri who has a smaller role in the film reportedly charges Rs 2 crore for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. As per reports, Vidya Balan charged Rs 6 crore to return to the series, while Madhuri Dixxit earned Rs 4 crore. Last but not least, the comedic genius, Rajpal Yadav reportedly earned Rs 1.5 crore for his recurring role in the franchise. The supporting characters – Vijay Raaz charged Rs 70 lakh and Snajay Mishra was paid Rs 50 lakh for their respective roles.
