New Delhi: To facilitate smooth and safe travel of passengers, the Indian Railways has launched special trains and improved the facilities at important stations all over the nation. This has been done keeping the festive season in mind, especially with the Chhath Puja coming up which is an important festival in India. It is especially significant in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar.
According to Dilip Kumar who is the Railway Board’s Executive Director of Information and Publicity, numerous special trains have been arranged for the passengers. Also, the important stations, including New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Anand Vihar, Surat, Mumbai, Vadodara, Bandra, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai are going to set up additional support systems to manage the rush during the festive season.
Kumar said that the Indian Railways have added extra trains to routes to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh for the safe travel of passengers during the Chhath Puja. Security teams from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have been deployed at crowded stations and Rail Sewaks will also help the passengers with their inquiries. Also, additional coaches have been added to the special trains for the comfort of passengers and hundreds of CCTV cameras have been installed in the stations.
One can book tickets in both online and offline mode and those without confirmed tickets can access the unreserved seats. The Rail Sevaks are providing dedicated support to senior citizens and physically challenged travellers. Also, access to the important stations has been limited to streamline traffic. There are food stalls that offer reasonably priced options for passengers.

Special facilities for the safety of passengers
Special control rooms have been created at the Railway Board, Zonal Railway Division and station level to oversee the passenger facilities at the stations and the timely movement of trains. These control rooms are present to deal with any kind of problem.
Moreover, the Indian Railways has arranged for passengers to enter the train in a queuing manner. Additional staff and Railway Protection Force personnel have been deployed for crowd management. At some important stations, keeping in mind the potential of excessive crowds, the Railways has made arrangements for additional coaches and rakes in reserve which will be used in special trains.
