MV Agusta F3 Competizione: The Hottest Looking Track Monster

MV Agusta has revealed the F3 Competizione which is their entry to the hyper track focused litre class motorcycle. If you want an exclusive entry into the Italian marquee, then look no further as MV Agusta will only be making 300 examples worldwide. They have given the motorcycle more power, have shed off considerable weight and also some track goodies.

It is based on the F3RR but has more power. In terms of design it is more or less the same but there is a smoked windscreen and a carbon fibre front fender. There is an Alcantara wrapped seat, and a CNC machined plaque signifying the that it is one of 300. The only colour option is Satin Black/Satin Intense Silver with gold trim and that paint is barely visible on the bodywork as everything else is made up of carbon fibre.

Engine

In terms of the engine, it is the same 798cc three-cylinder engine which produces 160 bhp at 13,500 rpms, a 5 bhp jump over the regular F3RR. This is mainly attributed to the new Akrapovic titanium race exhaust system and specialized ECU map. The exhaust saves over 3 kgs and it also gets a lithium ion battery which saves another 3 kgs, and the bike in total weighs 179 kgs.

Suspension

Other details include BST carbon fibre wheels, and MV has also added a nine-disk slipper clutch which reduces lever effort. There is also a bi-directional quick shifter. Then there is the suspension which has been completely overhauled. It now gets Ohlins 30 NIX 30 inverted forks up front with fully adjustable preload, rebound and compression settings. The rear is handled by TTX 36 with an external reservoir and is also fully adjustable. An Ohlins steering damper completes the setup with 19 levels of adjustability.

Braking is handled by 320mm dual discs up front with Brembo’s Stylema calipers and the rear is handled by 220mm single disk with dual-piston Brembo calipers. The F3 Competizione gets the six-axis IMU which has been developed by e-Novia and it has to offer four riding modes, eight-levels of traction control, wheelie control, cruise control and launch control. It also gets race spec ABS system and has two modes wherein the Race mode, it shuts off the rear ABS, Rear Lift Mitigation is less intrusive and cornering ABS is also shut off. This can only be accessed when the motorcycle is equipped with the Race exhaust and the tune.
