Diwali celebrations light up Kedarnath-Badrinath shrines today with great enthusiasm

Dehradun: In both the Char Dham shrines- Kedarnath and Badrinath, Diwali is being celebrated with great enthusiasm on Friday. The temples, located in both the Dhams, are decorated with flowers. Apart from earthen lamps, temples will be seen glowing lights in the evening. However, Uttarakhand celebrated Diwali on Thursday.

“In Badrinath Dham, “Maha Lakshmi Pujan” began at 5pm during “Pradosh” period,” said a press release issued by the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). After that, Lord Kuber and the treasure of Bhagwan Badri Vishal were worshipped.

In Kedarnath shrine, the worship of Lord Ganesh and Deity Lakshmi began in the evening. BKTC president Ajendra Ajay was present during Diwali celebration in Kedarnath Dham. In Badrinath Dham, Rawal Amarnath Nambudiri, Chief Priest Radha Krishna Thapliyal, Temple Officer Rajendra Chauhan, and Administrative Officer Kuldeep Bhatt are present during the celebration of Diwali festival.

Prayers offered at Lakshmi Narayan temple in Badri Dham

Dr Harish Gaur, Media in-charge of the BKTC, said Diwali is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in Kedranth Dham. The temple is decorated with flowers. He said the portal of Kedarnath is scheduled to close on November 3. Apart from Ganesh Pujan, people associated with the BKTC, and other stakeholders offered their prayers at Lakshmi Narayan temple.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also reached Kedar valley to have darshan of Baba Kedar on Friday morning. He wished happiness, prosperity, and well-being for the people of the state. During his stay in Kedar valley, CM Dhami spared time to meet devotees, saints and locals who were present on the temple premises.

State government is committed to ensure all-round development of Kedarnath shrine, claims CM Dhami

CM Dhami said under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the state government is committed to ensure all-round development of the Kedarnath Dham. He added the development of Kedarnath shrine is giving new direction to the economy of the region, besides generating fresh opportunities for employment. He also said that the better management of the Char Dham Yatra is resulting in the increase in the number of pilgrims every year.
