Born on November 1, 1973, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan began her upward trajectory after winning the Miss World title in 1994, making her the most sought-after celebrity in India. She first made her on-screen debut when she was only in 9th grade.

In an interview, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan revealed that before her Miss World title, she got quite a few film offers. Most are unaware of the fact that Aishwarya Rai initially wanted to become a doctor as her interests lay in zoology. However, she switched her academic path to architecture and studied at the Rachana Sansad Academy of Architecture in Mumbai.

Adding another achievement to the long list, in 2003, Aishwarya Rai was the first Indian actor to be part of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival. In addition to this, the actress also become the second actor, after her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, to have a wax statue at Madame Tussaud’s museum.

With over 45 films in her filmography, Aishwarya has previously revealed that she is a ‘non-fussy eater’. She explained that her husband and she are terrible at dieting. “We can’t exercise with any discipline,” said Aishwarya. However, the actress still continues to maintain healthy eating habits and avoids processed food.

Last but not least, did you know that there is a flower named after Aishwarya? That’s right, in 2005 the managing director of the Netherlands Board of Tourism, Hans Van Driem, said that a special variety of tulips would be named after Aishwarya to celebrate her timeless beauty.
