New Delhi: In a ghastly incident of murder, a 17-year-old boy’s head was severed during a land dispute in Kabiruddin village, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased, identified as Anurag Yadav, was attacked by a group of men, one of whom wielded a sword.

Witnesses stated that Anurag, the only son of Ramjeet Yadav, was chased by several assailants. According to reports, two suspects have been arrested, while the sword-wielding attacker remains at large. Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma noted that the land dispute, which has been ongoing for approximately 40 to 45 years, escalated to violence on Wednesday. “Two individuals from one of the parties, Ramesh and Laalta, were involved in the attack,” he was quoted by NDTV as saying.

Multiple police teams present in the area

Multiple police teams were dispatched to the scene to maintain order and prevent further violence. District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra stated that those responsible for the murder would face the harshest possible punishment, the NDTV report further mentioned. “The crime is connected to an old land dispute that is currently pending in civil court,” he added. A report on the dispute has been requested within three days.
