Dehradun: Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, who reviewed the preparation for the celebration of the state foundation day on November 9, asked all the District Magistrates to organize a grand function at district-level in accordance with the vision of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. All the DMs attended the review meeting through video conferencing on Tuesday.

Chief secretary Raturi told the officials that a grand function will be also organized at the state as well as divisional level. She reminded them that it will be 24th state foundation day. It will also mark the beginning of “Rajat Jayanti” (silver jubilee) of the foundation of the hill state. Thus, the function holds special significance for the natives of the hill state, she communicated to the officials at the meeting.

The celebrations will continue from November 9 to November 9, 2025

“Devbhoomi Rajatotsava” will start from November 9 and continue till November 9, 2025. She underlined the need for ensuring participation of locals as well as NRIs, whose origin is in Uttarakhand in the silver jubilee celebrations of the foundation of the Uttarakhand.

A week-long celebration of the state foundation day to begin from November 6

The government is under a plan to organize a week-long celebration of the state foundation day beginning from November 6. There will be a celebration in Delhi-based “Uttarakhand Sadan” and Delhi-based natives of the state would be invited to participate in it.

Sports events, cultural programme and special function highlighting women empowerment to be held

Besides, the state government has already announced to organize a “Pravasi Uttarakhand Sammellan” (Migrant Uttarakhand Conference) to connect with the hill state’s natives who either stay in different parts of the country or abroad. The government wants to organize sports events, cultural programmes, and special functions on the theme of women empowerment during the celebration of “Devbhoomi Rajatotsava” in the coming one year. Multipurpose camps, health check-up camps in slum areas, special programme for Divyang, different honours, prize distribution programme, programme for spreading glory stories of the martyrs and statehood agitators will also be held.
