It must be noted that dollar figures suggest the estimated factory date value of the iPhone instead of the retail price. While comparing the previous trends of Apple’s iPhone export from India around five years back when Apple hadn’t expanded its manufacturing in the country, it was just at $5.2 million, the report added.  So, what is contributing to this steep growth of Apple’s exports from India?

Indian government’s subsidies have also helped Apple to assemble the premium and latest iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max models in India. Apart from this, Apple has opened two key retail stores in India located in Mumbai and Delhi, which has also gained significant revenue. Following the success of these two stores, Apple is also planning to expand its retail stores in the country.

However, it must be noted that Apple’s iPhone still holds just 7 per cent of India’s smartphone market. The rest of the smartphone market in India is dominated by other brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.

End Of China’s Dominance?

It seems unlikely! Despite the fact that India is witnessing growth in contrast to China’s slowdown post-COVID-19 lockdown impact, China is still a dominant country in terms of manufacturing and sales. Still, it is crucial for India to keep the momentum of the iPhone sales and exports of iPhones.
