“I was trying to grab my backpack, but this guy punched my face. The third guy pulled out a knife and the locals started coming. They were literally seeing everything unfold but none of them were willing to help. Nobody stopped, nobody tried to help; rather once these guys ran away with my money, the locals blamed me for what happened to me,” the actor revealed.

Surprisingly, the locals present at the site did not step in to help the actor and instead blamed Gaurav for carrying so much money. When he informed the two policemen present in a van, he was asked to report it to the police station instead and write a complaint. Only then will they be able to help him.

Gaurav said, “The locals where I’m staying right now, told me, ‘If you will file a complaint, they will try to take some money from you. The police will only make you wait here for, like, another couple of weeks and then no solution. They will tell you we found nothing in the cameras and all and blah blah blah. So it’s all about wasting your time here.’”

The aftermath

Gaurav Sareen’s harrowing robbery incident was nothing sort of a shock for his fans. The Udaan actor took to his Instagram stories a while back to share a selfie where he had a black eye after getting punched by one of the robbers. In the same interview, the actor said that he was in a state of shock and is still coming to terms with what unfolded on the night of October 27.
