As per ABC News/Ipsos poll, the difference between both rivals is just 2 percent points among the voters. While Harris is currently leading the race with 49 percent, Trump is closely following with 47 percent. As compared to last month, Harris has regained her confidence among Hispanic people. She has also gained the backing of suburban women while continuing to remain strong among Black people. Trump continues to remain behind in rural areas as also among non-college white men, ABC News reported.

Trump promises major shift in immigration law

Meanwhile, in his campaign speeches, Trump promised a major shift in US immigration policy if he comes to power. The Republican candidate also vowed to carry out the “largest” domestic deportation operation in the country’s history of undocumented immigrants. He even promised to end the birthright citizenship for the immigrant children living in the US illegally. In recent times, a number of pro-immigration groups criticised him over his rhetoric on immigration. On the other hand, in recent times, Harris has stressed on the need to curtail illegal immigration. Addressing a rally recently, Trump had accused Harris of bringing in “migrant gangs and illegal alien criminals” into the US.
