Yadav was stationed at the Crime Branch at the time of his death. He had a cow in a small enclosure near his house. On Friday morning, as he was bathing the cow, he and the cattle suffered an electric shock, according to an India TV reported quoted by HT. However, HT cannot independently verify this information.

They were spotted by a passerby, who informed the police immediately, who swung into action. Yadav was rushed to Choithram Hospital, where he was declared dead. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination. A probe has been launched by the Juni Indore Police. The cops will investigate the circumstances surrounding his and the cattle’s death.

In another incident reported from Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district, three elephants, including a calf, died after suffering electric shock after they came in contact with a power line in a forest, officials said. Foresters stated that it appears that the elephants came into contact with an 11 KV (kilovolt) power transmission line of a state-run power company in the Chuhkimar forest area of the Tamnar forest range.

Officials said Chhattisgarh has reported deaths of over 70 elephants in the last six years, with causes ranging from ailments and age to electrocution.
