New Delhi: Rafael Dos Anjos was fighting on his 40th birthday, but he had a birthday to forget. His fight against Geoff Neal ended up horribly at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, October 26. The UFC veteran Dos Anjos was fighting in the welterweight division against Neal.
Neal knocked down Anjos in the first minute of the fight but Anjos immediately stood up. Neal again went for the takedown but the veteran defended well, but seconds later Anjos was down again for the second time. This time it was due to his knee injury.
Anjos’ injury forced the Referee to stop fighting in the first round itself. Neal controlled the fight until it was stopped and Neal was declared winner of the battle. Neal extended his MMA record to 16-6. After the win, Neal also announced that he would be climbing a ladder to get a rematch against Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad.
Ibo Aslan knocks out Raffael Cerqueira in just 51 seconds. The main event of UFC 308 prelims delivered a brutal knockout as Ibo Aslan TKO Raffael Cerqueira in just 51 seconds. Aslan started the fight aggressively and landed a low kick to Cerqueira and then stunned him with a jab, that pushed him to the fence.
Aslan then hit nasty shots with both hands and continued to land hard shots until the Referee stopped him and finished the fight in 51 seconds.
