Chandigarh: Amid the ongoing diplomatic row between India and Canada, the focus has now shifted to Goldy Brar, listed as a ‘category-A’ gangster by the Punjab Government and the main accused in the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Canada has so far not given any clear signals of his whereabouts and has been giving contradictory statements on him.

According to ‘The Tribune’ after the assassination of Moosewala in May 2022, the Punjab Police claimed to have shared Goldy’s location with Canadian authorities. The security agencies of Canada, however, did not provide any proper  response on the matter. Questioning Canada’s double standards, Punjab Police have expressed concern that on one hand the authorities in the country removed Brar from Canada’s most wanted list, and on the other hand, they  have accused him and Lawrence Bishnoi of killing Khalistani activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey last year.

Verma said he escaped being harmed by a potential attack with a sharp object when Canadian officials were also present there at the time.
