New Delhi: Not only South Indian cinema, Bollywood has also been gearing up for two massive Diwali 2024 theatrical releases. That’s right, two star-studded films will take centre stage as they battle it out at the box office on November 1, 2024. While the fans have been excited about this clash, the event has taken an unexpected turn. With nearly a week to release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘s team approached the necessary authorities, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) alleging that there have been unfair practices by the makers of Singham Again.
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa team accused the opposing team of unfair distribution of theatre screens. They have requested a fair 50-50 split for both sides. This move is not surprising considering the high-stakes clash between the big-budget movies releasing this Diwali.
Singham Again Vs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again is one of the most anticipated Bollywood films of the year. Boasting an impressive ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, the movie is one of the biggest star-cast of the year. On the other hand, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, will bring back the iconic franchise back to life with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri.
While such clashes are not a new event, it has been a while since such big stars clashed for the top spot during festivals, the best time for movie-goers. With no other major Hindi releases, all focus will be shifted to these two movies. Such a clash comes at a particularly necessary time as theatre attendance keeps declining by the day. It might as well be such big names to draw the audience into theatres.
Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 – budget
The estimated reported budget of Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again is Rs 350-375 crore. Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘s estimated budget has been reported to be Rs 150 crore. While there is a massive gap between the budgets, the horror-comedy high that the audience has been feeling after the massive success of Stree 2 might propel Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s chance over Singham Again.
