Dana Cyclone Tracker: The massive Dana cyclone is moving towards the Odisha coast which is expected to hit in just a few hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, which alerts that Cyclone Dana has been moving northwest at about 12 km/h over the past six hours. As of 5:30 PM IST today (October 23), it was centred roughly 420 km southeast of Paradip, 450 km south-southeast of Dhamara, and 500 km from Sagar Island in West Bengal.
The storm isn’t slowing down either. It’s likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm by tomorrow morning over the Bay of Bengal, IMD alerted. It’s expected to make landfall somewhere between Puri and Sagar Island, close to Bhitarkanika and Dhamara in Odisha. Both Odisha and West Bengal are preparing for impact.
