Shreyas Iyer set to miss Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy match – Report

New Delhi: In a big blow to Mumbai’s campaign at the ongoing Ranji Trophy, seasoned batter Shreyas Iyer will sit out of the next clash due to a shoulder injury. Shreyas, who smashed a remarkable century in Mumbai’s last match against Maharashtra, taking his team to a 9-wicket victory, has been ruled out of the upcoming clash against Tripura on October 26.

According to a report published in Cricbuzz, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources have revealed that Iyer would need at least a week of rest due to his shoulder problem and then only he can resume. Surprisingly a day ahead on Monday, Mumbai announced the squad for the next clash with Iyer very well part of it.

Third blow for Mumbai

His exclusion comes as a massive blow for the side as Suryakumar Yadav has already been declared unavailable for the contest and Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out because of some fitness issues.
