These Five Jobs Are Most at Risk of Being Replaced by AI: Report

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a big topic these days. People are asking: Will AI take over our jobs? A new report from Indeed, a global job site, says that while AI isn’t ready to replace everyone just yet, five jobs might feel the impact sooner than others.

AI in the Workplace

Indeed looked into this and found that AI might not be as big a threat as some think. They analyzed over 2,800 job skills. None were found to be “very likely” replaced by AI. In fact, 68.7% of these skills are “very unlikely” or “unlikely” to be taken over by AI. But about 28.5% could “potentially” be replaced.

Svenja Gudell, Indeed’s chief economist, said, “We found that there were really no skills—literally zero—that were very likely to be replaceable.” So, for now, AI is more of a helper than a job-stealer. But certain jobs, especially those with repetitive tasks, are more at risk.

Five Jobs Most at Risk from AI

The report points out five jobs that might soon feel the AI shake-up because of their repetitive or technical tasks:

  1. Accounting
  2. Marketing and Advertising
  3. Software Development
  4. Healthcare Administrative Support
  5. Insurance Claims and Inspection

AI is good at handling repetitive tasks like crunching numbers or automating marketing campaigns. For example, accounting tasks like processing invoices or managing payroll could be automated. In software development, AI might help with coding and debugging, making things faster.

Why These Jobs?

Gudell explained, “The technical and often repetitive nature of the skills needed for those roles play into AI’s strengths.” Jobs that don’t require much physical interaction or direct human contact, like healthcare admin roles, are more at risk. Tasks like scheduling appointments or processing claims could be automated.

On the other hand, jobs that need hands-on work, human interaction, or dealing directly with clients—like nursing—are safer from AI for now. Jobs that involve solving unique, non-repetitive problems are less likely to be replaced anytime soon.
