Beijing: A Chinese man is altering gender roles with his unique lifestyle. The man, who calls himself a “kept man”, has a special arrangement with his wife. In their relationship, the wife manages all the household expenses, while he spends most of his time playing video games.
The individual, known as Sudden Fantasy, revealed details about his life on the social media app Douyin. His lifestyle has garnered him a large following. According to the South China Morning Post, the man from Beijing is married to a woman named Fenghua, who belongs to an affluent family in Japan. In their relationship, Fenghua is the breadwinner as well as the manager of the house. While she is engaged in taking care of the house, her husband is mostly playing video games and taking it slow.

The man revealed that his wife gives him a daily pocket money of about Rs 1 lakh. Speaking of how he helps his wife, the Chinese man said that he makes her feel comfortable daily by doing small things. Though he usually wakes up at 7 am, he remains in bed till his wife decides to get up. He believes that she might get anxious with his early morning rise. Another thing that he does for his wife is to give her the chance to shower first every single day as he does not want her mood to be affected by the wet bathroom tiles.
“You will not last long if you’re just doing things to be nice to her; you’ll eventually burn out. Willpower is limited. You need to discover a way for both of you to live together harmoniously; what I do is not just for her, but also for me. That is my ultimate philosophy as a kept man,” said the man, according to the South China Morning Post.
