Hyderabad: Class 11 student dies by suicide at Narayana College hostel

An Intermediate first-year student died by suicide on Monday at Narayana College hostel in Bachupally, Hyderabad.

The 17-year-old girl, identified as Anusha, is a native of Nagireddipalli, Sangareddy district. The tragic incident happened after Anusha was dropped off by her parents at the hostel after Dasara vacation.

A few hours after she was dropped off, the management informed her parents that she had lost consciousness. When they reached college, the parents found out that their daughter had died by suicide.

Outraged family members blamed the college management for the suicide and staged a protest at the hostel premises, which resulted in a verbal spat between the parents and the management.

A case has been registered by the police and investigation is underway.
