New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, the former Delhi chief minister, is set to move into a new house as he vacates the government bungalow in the posh Civil Lines neighbourhood after stepping down from the post and handing over the reins to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi.
Buzz grew around where Kejriwal will move to as he finds a new home in the national capital. The AAP too had been scouting areas to zero in on a residence for its chief. On Wednesday, the party announced that a house has been finalised for Kejriwal and the location falls in the constituency he represents as an MLA – New Delhi.

Kejriwal is in the process of vacating the government bungalow in Civil Lines and will move out with his family in the coming 1-2 days, to pave the way for Chief Minister Atishi to set base.
Although AAP did not reveal the exact address of Kejriwal’s new residence, it did mention that the house will lie close to the party’s national headquarters on the Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane in central Lutyens’ Delhi.
According to a Times of India report, Kejriwal is likely to move into a bungalow on Feroz Shah Road.
After resigning as Chief Minister last month, Kejriwal announced that he would vacate his official residence on Flagstaff Road during the Navratri period. He also expressed a desire to live in his own assembly constituency, New Delhi. The auspicious Hindu festival starts on Thursday.
Last month, AAP requested the central government to provide Kejriwal with an official residence, citing his role as the leader of a national party.
Kejriwal’s resignation from the Delhi Chief Minister’s post last month caught even his own party members by surprise. Since then, he has been actively campaigning in Haryana, where AAP is contesting 89 out of 90 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections. In Delhi, he has visited areas with broken roads, assuring solutions within a few weeks.
