IMD Weather Forecast Today: Heavy rains expected in Karnataka and Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi: Even as the Monsoon season is all set to be over across the country in the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in parts of the country including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, and Lakshadeep.

Sharing a press statement, the IMD said that isolated heavy to very Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on October 3. The northeast state of Arunachal Pradesh may witness isolated heavy rainfall till October 2 and again on October 4. Similarly, other states like Nagaland, Meghalaya Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may too expect similar weather conditions during the week.

According to the department, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is also expected in the region during the week. Parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, and Andaman and Nicobar may also experience scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall in the region during the week

The department has also predicted scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and Telangana this week. Isolated heavy rainfall in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal is expected till October 4. As per the weather department, no significant rainfall likely over these regions during next one week in the northwest, west, and central parts of India this week.

Karnataka, Gujarat received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours

Earlier on Monday, parts of Karnataka and Gujarat received heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places Similar weather conditions were also seen in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Saurashtra, Kutch, West Madhya, Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Maharashtra in last 24 hours.
