Petitioner was mentioning his matter before the CJI-headed bench

The petitioner, who said he hailed from Pune and was mentioning his matter before the bench, was seeking in-house inquiry against former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, making him one of the respondents. He submitted that his plea was dismissed by Justice Gogoi relying on the statement already challenged by him for being illegal.

You cannot just ask for an in-house inquiry against the judge of the Supreme Court, CJI Chandrachud told petitioner

CJI Chandrachud told the petitioner that Justice Gogoi was a former judge of the Supreme Court and a petition cannot be filed against a judge merely for denying him the relief.

“There has to be some dignity, you cannot just ask for an in-house inquiry against the judge of the Supreme Court. Justice Ranjan Gogoi was a former judge of the Supreme Court, sorry we cannot tolerate this…..,” CJI Chandrachud told the lawyer.

CJI Chandrachud then explained to the petitioner, who was speaking in Marathi, in Marathi that he has to follow certain legal procedures and told him that if he deleted the name of Justice Gogoi from the array of respondents, then the Supreme Court Registry would consider processing his petition.

The petitioner agreed to delete the name of Justice Gogoi from the array of respondents.
