In a shocking incident reported from Rajasthan, a woman Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) was dragged with her hair when she went to get the encroachments remove. The incident took place in Todabhim area of Gangapur city in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan.
According to reports, the local officials had gone to remove a industrial weight machine when the scuffles broke out between a woman and the SDM. The fight took place on Thursday afternoon.
Incident happened Nadi village
On Thursday, a group of local officials had gone to Nadi village to remove weight machine that was put up on an agricultural land. The owner was given notice in the past to remove it.
After the video went viral, SDM Sunita Meena said the officials had gone to remove the encroachment from the land. When the locals and the family protested the encroachment removal, a scuffle broke out. The SDM said the matter should not be conflated.
Push and dragging during scuffle
Meanwhile, the family has claimed that the land where the machine is place is privately-owned. The family also alleged that the SDM had also pushed an elderly man of the family following which the incident happened.
Toraram Meena, the son of woman who caught the SDM by hair, said the land being called as encroached is our private land. “We got a notice telling us that we did not get the land use changed for erecting the weight machine. We were told to remove the Dharmkanta. We put up our stand before the Tehsildar but SDM and other officials landed up at our place to remove the machine,” said Totaram.
