As per a statement from the police, the charge sheet against the 17 accused in the murder case, including actor Darshan, has been filed on the basis of the eye-witnesses account, circumstantial, technical, scientific and other evidence that was collected during the investigation of the case. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda had told reporters that a “watertight” charge sheet was prepared after probing the case from all aspects.

Renukaswamy allegedly made derogatory comments against Pavithra on social media

According to reports, Renukaswamy, who was a fan of film star Darshan, allegedly made derogatory comments against Pavithra, who is said to be Darshan’s friend, on social media, which allegedly enraged Darshan and allegedly leading to his murder. Deceased Renukaswamy’s post-mortem revealed that he died due to shock and haemorrhage as a result of multiple blunt injuries.

Police sources have told news agency PTI that Pavithra, who is accused number one, was the “major cause” for the murder of Renukaswamy, claiming that the investigation has proved that Pavithra instigated other accused, conspired with them, and took part in the crime.

Meanwhile, Darshan has approached the Karnataka High Court seeking to restrain media outlets from broadcasting or publishing any details from the recently-filed charge sheet in the Renukaswamy murder case. .
