‘9th fail…speak for 5 minutes on socialism’: Prashant Kishor takes potshots at Tejashwi Yadav

New Delhi: Taking a swipe at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Jan Suraaj chief and former poll strategist Prashant Kishor raised doubts about the former Bihar CM’s ability to lead the state to development. Speaking at a gathering in Bhojpur in Bihar, Kishor pointed out that Tejashwi had all resources at his disposal yet he couldn’t pass the 10th grade.

“If a person could not get educated because of lack of resources, it is understandable. But if someone’s parents are chief minister and he could not clear Class 10, then this reflects their approach towards education,” he said.

Adding to his sarcastic barb, he added, “A 9th fail is showing the way to Bihar’s development. He (Tejashwi Yadav) doesn’t know the difference between GDP and GDP growth and he will tell how Bihar will improve?”

Kishor questioned Tejashwi Yadav credentials to lead a state and said that he was banking on his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s legacy and taking advantage of his family ties. He challenged Tejashwi to speak on socialism for five minutes without parroting from a prepared note. The Jan Suraaj leader lambasted Tejashwi’s growth model for Bihar and called it “laughable”.

Flaying the leader’s upcoming state tour starting on September 10, Kishor said that Tejashwi needs to reach out to people on foot instead of going with a convoy of vehicles and holding photo shoots. He also tore into Tejashwi’s promises of government jobs and dubbed them as deceptive.

Speaking on caste census, Kishor backed its implementation but hit out at those who were making it a political tool. He emphasised that parties which are truly concerned about welfare must implement it first in states where they have their power and offer economic benefits to the communities and castes who need it the most.

Kishor also said that in 2025, the chief minister of his party (Jan Suraaj) will take oath, and the government of Jan Suraaj will be in power.
